Kohler's residential warranty covers the porcelain for life and the original-equipment tank trim (fill valve, flush valve, flapper) for 1 year on labor + 5 years on parts. Replacing a worn flapper or fill valve with an aftermarket (Korky/Fluidmaster) part does not void the porcelain warranty — this is a frequent misconception. The aftermarket replacement only voids warranty on the specific replaced trim component, which had its useful life anyway.
