WaterClue is an independent water products research site. We catalog, spec-verify, and editorially review water heaters, water softeners, water filters, toilets, faucets, showerheads, bidets, RO systems, water distillers, water pumps, and bathtubs across hundreds of brands and thousands of models — with a depth of coverage no retailer or broad-scope review site can match.

What makes us different

Most review sites cover 5–10 picks per category and call it done. We cover entire catalogs — every active model, every brand, every meaningful variant — because the "best" pick for a family of five in Phoenix with hard water and a gas line is a different product than the best pick for a couple in a Pacific Northwest condo. Broad picks mislead. Structured, complete data helps.

Our editorial team

Our editorial team includes researchers with hands-on backgrounds in residential plumbing, HVAC, and water treatment. Our water heater coverage draws on experience with gas and electric tank installations, heat pump systems, tankless units, and point-of-use equipment. Every specification published on this site is cross-referenced against at least one primary source — manufacturer spec sheets, DOE EnergyGuide labels, or the AHRI performance certification database.

We do not publish AI-generated product copy. All editorial content — buying guides, best-of lists, brand hubs, and product reviews — is written, fact-checked, and edited by humans who understand what they are reviewing.

Independence

WaterClue earns revenue through affiliate commissions when readers click through to Amazon and make a purchase. This revenue funds our research and editorial operations. It does not fund our rankings. Product position on this site is determined by specifications, user-reported reliability, energy efficiency, and value — never by commission rate, brand relationship, or advertising spend.

We have never accepted payment to feature, rank, or recommend a product. We have a written policy prohibiting it.

Accuracy and corrections

Specifications change. Products are discontinued. Prices fluctuate. We maintain an active program to audit and update product data. If you spot an error — a wrong spec, a discontinued model listed as active, or an outdated price — please contact us with the page URL and the correction. We review every submission within 5 business days.
