RV and marine toilets are a separate engineering category from residential — they operate without a sewer connection, dispose to portable holding tanks (cassettes) that you empty at dump stations, and have to function on the limited 12-volt power available in mobile applications. Brands and product lines are entirely different from residential.
Two main categories — cassette vs macerating
- Cassette toilets (volume RV market): permanent bowl mounted to the floor; below it sits a removable plastic holding tank ("cassette") that slides out for emptying. Dometic, Thetford, and Camco own the segment. ~$200–$700 installed in an RV.
- Macerating marine toilets: the toilet grinds waste and pumps it overboard or to a holding tank. Used on yachts, sailboats, and houseboats. Raritan, Jabsco, Sealand brands. $400–$1,800.

- Dometic 320 Series ($240–$420) — gravity-flush porcelain RV toilet. Replaces the original cassette in most US-built motorhomes.
- Dometic 310 Series ($180–$280) — entry-tier porcelain RV toilet.
- Dometic 510 Plus ($380) — newer pedal-foot-flush design.
- Thetford Aqua-Magic V ($120–$220) — the volume Thetford RV toilet. Plastic, foot-pedal flush, integrated blade-seal.
- Thetford Aqua-Magic Style II / Style Lite ($180–$280) — upgraded Aqua-Magic variants.
- Thetford Aqua-Magic Bravura ($180–$280) — porcelain Thetford for higher-end RVs.
- Camco Premium / Standard ($60–$140) — value-tier RV-compatible toilets and bedside camping units.
- Sealand VacuFlush ($800–$1,800) — vacuum-flush marine toilet. Used on serious yachts and houseboats.
The most-needed RV toilet repair parts
RV toilet failures are predictable. The most-replaced parts:

The install consideration for RV toilets
RV toilets have a non-standard rough-in compared to residential — usually a specific holding-tank flange pattern unique to the RV manufacturer (Winnebago, Forest River, Jayco, etc.). When replacing an RV toilet, match the original flange pattern or buy an adapter. Replacement is typically a like-for-like swap; brand crossover is rare.
