Empava Freestanding Bathtub Installation -- Drain, GFCI & Jet Pump Setup

Empava freestanding installation follows standard freestanding drain rough-in process; jetted models add GFCI electrical setup.

Freestanding drain rough-in

Same process as all end-drain freestanding tubs: position the tub, mark the drain location (foot end, center), rough in 1.5" PVC p-trap before flooring, connect Empava's chrome drain assembly after tub is set and level.

GFCI circuit for jetted models

The EMPV-59JT011 pump connects to a dedicated 120V/20A GFCI circuit. The junction box for the pump connection is located inside the tub base -- Empava supplies a wiring diagram with the pump kit. The circuit must be completed by a licensed electrician in jurisdictions requiring permits. Permit inspection for a jetted tub typically includes: GFCI protection verification, GFCI disconnect location, and ground bonding of the pump and water fittings.

First fill and jet priming

Before first use, fill the tub above the jet level and run the jet pump for 5 minutes to prime the system and flush any manufacturing residue from the jet plumbing. Drain and refill before bathing. The LED chromotherapy system requires no special setup -- it connects to the same 120V circuit as the pump.
