The PC600 and PC1000 combo systems add a whole-home carbon block filter stage upstream of the NaturSoft media. This is the right choice for households on chlorinated or chloraminated municipal water — the carbon pre-filter removes the oxidizing chloramine before it reaches the NaturSoft media, extending media life and removing taste/odor from the treated water. The combo systems add $600–$800 to the base price but extend media life by 15–25% in chloraminated water supplies.
