Kinetico Installation: Dealer-Only Process
Kinetico systems are installed exclusively by authorized Kinetico dealers. There is no DIY installation path. The dealer handles all aspects: pre-installation water analysis, system selection, licensed plumber installation, programming (minimal since the system is non-electric), and post-installation testing. Installation typically takes 3–5 hours and includes a full walkthrough of the brine tank and bypass valve.
What to Expect: Kinetico Installation Day
- The Kinetico dealer team arrives (typically 2 technicians).
- They shut off the main water supply and prepare the installation point on the main line.
- The twin-tank manifold and brine tank are positioned and connected to the supply line, bypass valve, and drain.
- The brine tank is filled with Kinetico-recommended pellet salt (Morton, Cargill, or Diamond Crystal).
- Water is restored. The non-electric valve is verified for proper operation by running water through the service tank until flow rate is confirmed.
- The dealer demonstrates bypass valve operation and brine tank salt level maintenance.
Kinetico Space Requirements
Twin-tank systems require more floor space than single-tank designs. The Kinetico 2060 twin-tank occupies a footprint of approximately 24" × 12" for the mineral tanks plus an 18"–24" brine tank beside them. Measure your installation space carefully — many water heater closets are sized for a single tank system and may not accommodate Kinetico's twin-tank footprint without rearrangement.
