The Kinetico K2060OD is a non-electric twin-tank salt-based water softener that uses water flow to power its regeneration cycle rather than electricity. The twin-tank design ensures one tank is always in service while the other regenerates, providing uninterrupted soft water 24 hours a day with no timed regeneration interruptions. The K2060OD regenerates on demand based on actual water volume consumed, measured by a non-electric meter driven by water flow through the system. This demand-initiated, non-electric approach eliminates the timer and control head that are the most common failure points in conventional softeners. Salt efficiency is exceptional: the K2060OD uses the minimum brine concentration needed to regenerate the resin bed at each cycle, saving 25-40% salt compared to time-clock softeners of equivalent capacity.
