InSinkErator hot water dispensers are dedicated under-sink electric tankless heaters paired with a chrome dispenser faucet at the sink. How the system works

A small 2/3-gallon (or 4-cup on premium models) tank under the sink maintains water at near-boiling temperature using a 750–1000W electric element. The chrome dispenser tap at the sink has a spring-loaded handle — pull it to dispense, release to stop. The system is plumbed to cold water supply (refills automatically) and connects to a 120V outlet under the sink.

Every 3–5 years: replace the tank's anode rod if accessible (some models have replaceable anodes). Tank typically lasts 7–12 years; element replacement is a common repair at year 4–6.

Filtration upgrade

Many users add an under-sink filtration cartridge upstream of the dispenser feed. This prevents mineral scaling inside the tank and improves taste of the dispensed water. Adds $40–80 in initial cost; filter cartridge replacement $20–30 every 6 months.
