InSinkErator HC-WAVE Hot & Cold Water Dispenser

The InSinkErator HC-WAVE is the company's combination instant-hot + chilled water dispenser — a single under-sink unit and faucet that deliver both 200°F hot water and chilled (about 50°F) cold water on demand. The "HC" stands for Hot and Cold; the WAVE designation refers to the design language of the dispensing faucet, which is the visible portion above the sink. It is InSinkErator's most-featured residential dispenser, sitting above the standalone HOT100 and H770 hot-only units.

Specs: 2/3-gallon stainless steel hot tank (PID-controlled, 150–210°F setpoint), separate refrigeration unit that chills incoming water to about 50°F at a continuous draw rate of 30 cups per hour, integrated water filter cartridge that polishes both hot and cold output. Total under-sink footprint roughly 18" wide × 15" deep — substantially larger than hot-only units, which matters for cabinets where under-sink space is already crowded.

Install: 120V outlet, cold-water supply connection, drilled hole in the sink top for the dispenser faucet (1-3/8" diameter), and the under-sink real estate to accommodate both the hot tank and the chiller compressor. Many installs require either reorganizing under-sink storage or trimming the cabinet shelves. Typical install time 2.5–4 hours.

3-year warranty on the unit, 1-year on the faucet. Maintenance: the filter cartridge replaces every 6 months ($30–$50); the hot tank descales every 12–18 months in hard water; the chiller is sealed and not user-serviceable. About $700 unit + faucet. Right answer for households that genuinely use both hot and cold delivery daily — coffee/tea drinkers who also want filtered cold water without a separate filter system.
