InSinkErator HOT100 Instant Hot Water Dispenser

The InSinkErator HOT100 is an instant hot water dispenser designed for kitchen sinks — a small reservoir under the counter heats water to 200°F and dispenses through a dedicated faucet on the sink top. Use cases: tea, instant soup, coffee, blanching vegetables, sanitizing dish water. The HOT100 is the entry-level model in InSinkErator's instant-hot lineup, sitting below the H770 and the higher-end H-WAVE combo units.

Specs: 2/3-gallon stainless steel tank, 750W heating element on 120V (any standard outlet), maintains water at adjustable temperature 160°F–210°F via a dial under the sink. Output flow about 60 cups per hour at full continuous draw. The system is sealed against the household cold-water supply via a small inlet on the back of the tank, with a thermal expansion valve to handle pressure changes during heating cycles.

Install requirements: a small under-sink mounting area (the tank is roughly 9" diameter × 13" tall, mounts on a bracket on the cabinet wall), the kitchen sink must have a free hole or the homeowner must drill one (1-1/4" diameter for the faucet), and a standard 120V outlet within 5 feet. Most installs take 60–90 minutes. The hardest part is drilling the faucet hole on stone countertops — diamond bits and patience required, or hire it out.

Maintenance: drain and clean the tank every 6–12 months in hard-water areas, every 18 months in soft. Citric acid solution dissolves mineral scale that accumulates on the heating element. Failure modes: heating element after 7–12 years (replaceable), thermostat after similar life. The chrome plating on the dispensing faucet itself outlives the tank typically.
