Clearly Filtered pitcher setup: (1) Remove all packaging. The pitcher is larger than standard Brita pitchers -- confirm it fits in your refrigerator before purchasing (dimensions: 11.5" tall x 5.5" wide). (2) Soak the new filter element in cold water for 15 minutes before first installation. (3) Insert the filter into the reservoir with the tabs aligned to the reservoir slots and press down until seated. The Clearly Filtered filter requires slightly more force to seat than a Brita filter -- press firmly and evenly. (4) Fill the reservoir and discard the first 2 pitchers (carbon fines flush). The Affinity filter does not use granular media and has fewer fines than standard GAC filters, but discarding the first two fills ensures consistent performance from the start.
