Setting Up a Brita Pitcher: 10-Minute Process
Brita pitcher setup requires no tools and takes 10 minutes: (1) Wash the pitcher body and lid with warm soapy water before first use. (2) Remove the filter from its sealed packaging. For Standard filters: hold under cold water for 15 seconds, then insert into the pitcher reservoir. For Longlast+ Elite filters: no pre-soaking required -- insert directly into the reservoir and press until the tabs click into position. (3) Fill the reservoir with cold tap water and discard the first 1--2 pitchers of filtered water (carbon fines flush). (4) Register the pitcher on the Brita app or press the filter indicator button to start the electronic replacement reminder.
Brita Faucet Filter Installation
The Brita On Tap faucet filter (FF-100) attaches to standard faucet aerator threads in under 5 minutes: (1) Remove the existing aerator using the aerator key or needle-nose pliers (wrap aerator in cloth to protect finish). (2) Attach the Brita adapter that matches your aerator thread size (adapters for male and female threads included). (3) Hand-tighten the Brita faucet filter onto the adapter until snug. (4) Switch between filter mode and direct tap mode using the lever on the faucet filter body.
