UltraClarity Pro filter insertion
The UltraClarity Pro filter installs in the upper right corner of the Bosch refrigerator interior. To insert: (1) Align the filter with the housing opening (the filter has orientation tabs that prevent incorrect insertion). (2) Push the filter into the housing until it seats, then quarter-turn clockwise to lock. The housing door clicks closed. No tools required. Run 2-3 gallons of water through the dispenser before drinking to flush the new filter of carbon fines. The refrigerator control panel filter indicator resets automatically on some Bosch models after filter insertion -- on others, hold the filter reset button on the control panel for 3 seconds to reset the indicator.
Refrigerator supply line connection
The Bosch refrigerator supply line (1/4-inch OD copper or braided stainless) connects to a cold water supply line via a saddle valve, T-valve, or angle stop under the sink. Bosch recommends a standard 1/4-inch compression angle stop valve on the cold supply stub-out as the cleanest connection method -- the saddle valve is a lower-quality alternative that can leak over time and should be avoided. The supply line runs from the valve, through the cabinet or under the flooring, to the refrigerator rear water inlet. Allow slack in the line for the refrigerator to be pulled out for cleaning or service.
First-use dispenser flush
After connecting the supply line and installing the filter: (1) Open the supply valve. (2) Press the dispenser lever and allow water to flow until it runs clear and free of air bubbles -- approximately 2-3 minutes. (3) Discard the first 2 gallons of dispensed water. (4) Verify no leaks at the supply valve, line connections, and refrigerator water inlet. (5) The ice maker (if present) will begin producing ice 12-24 hours after supply connection -- discard the first two ice cycles. The UltraClarity Pro filter carbon fines appear as black specks in the early output -- this is normal and clears after the initial flush.
