Replacement Filter Cartridges
Brita bottle replacement filters (model BBBF-1 and equivalents) are sold in 1-pack and 3-pack configurations. The 3-pack is approximately 20 percent less per filter than the 1-pack and covers 6 months of bi-monthly filter changes for a single user. Verify the filter part number matches your bottle model -- Brita sells different filter formats for its pitcher products, and these are not compatible with the bottle filter housing. The bottle filter cartridge is distinct from any pitcher or faucet mount filter and is not interchangeable with those products.
Lid Replacement
Brita sells replacement lids for the Premium and Sport bottles if the original lid is lost or cracked. Lids are specific to bottle diameter -- the 26-oz Premium and 36-oz Sport lids are not interchangeable. The lid includes the integrated filter housing, so a replacement lid comes with the filter seat but not a filter cartridge. Order the replacement lid by bottle model number (printed on the bottle base or packaging) to ensure fit. Lid replacement is also appropriate when the lid seal gasket (the rubber ring that prevents leakage at the lid-to-bottle interface) degrades -- this typically happens after 12 to 18 months of daily dishwasher cycling.
Straw and Nozzle Replacement
The flex straw on the Brita Premium bottle is replaceable separately from the full lid assembly. Straws degrade more quickly than the lid body and are the component most likely to need individual replacement. Compatible straws are available from Brita and from universal straw accessory packs for the standard diameter (typically 7 to 8 mm OD) used in most Brita bottle designs. Sport bottle nozzle valves (the squeeze-open bite valve on the Sport model) are also sold as standalone replacements; replace when the valve no longer seals completely and the bottle drips between sips.
Bottle Body Replacement
The Brita Tritan bottle body resists cracking under normal use but can crack if dropped on hard surfaces repeatedly. If the bottle body is cracked, the full bottle must be replaced -- the Tritan body is not repairable. Most Brita bottle models are sold at major retailers year-round. If your specific color or size is discontinued, any current Brita Premium or Sport bottle of the same capacity uses the same filter cartridge and lid thread, so the filter and lid from your old bottle (if undamaged) can be transferred to a new bottle body purchased at a discount through Brita or Amazon.
