TOTO toilet installation
TOTO install procedures match standard US 12-inch rough-in but require specific attention to TOTO-spec parts (tank-bowl gasket, supply line connections, seat mounting). Most TOTO toilets benefit from professional plumber install for first-time owners.
Install requirements
- Standard 12-inch rough-in
- TOTO-spec tank-bowl gasket (included in box — do not substitute)
- TOTO supply line OR universal 12-inch braided stainless (1/2" compression fit)
- Wax ring (Korky 6000 or Fluidmaster 7530) — NOT included with TOTO
- Floor must be flat for one-piece models (Drake II, Aimes, etc.)
Install procedure (two-piece Drake II, 60-75 min)
- Shut off water at under-toilet valve
- Flush old toilet to empty
- Disconnect supply line, remove old toilet
- Install wax ring on floor flange
- Set TOTO bowl on flange, verify plumb
- Hand-tighten flange bolts only
- Install TOTO-spec tank-bowl gasket (from box)
- Set tank on bowl, cross-tighten 1/4 turn alternately
- Connect supply line, restore water
- Test 3-5 flushes (verify Tornado Flush action)
- Install TOTO seat (sold separately for non-Washlet models)
One-piece install (Aimes, MS6 series)
- Two-person lift required (~100 lbs)
- NEVER twist during placement
- Floor must be flat — Korky setting compound if needed
- Wax ring with horn recommended
- Verify floor flange at or below floor level
Washlet+ integrated installs
Washlet+ models (Drake combo, Aquia combo) include factory-integrated bidet seat with TOTO bowl. Install includes electrical 110V outlet within 4 ft of toilet for Washlet operation. See individual product pages for specific install requirements.
