Arm clearance check -- Rainshower 310 first step
Before installing the Rainshower 310, verify the arm positions the 12-inch head at least 10 inches from the wall. Measure from the wall face to the center of the shower arm inlet: if the measurement is less than 6 inches with the existing arm, purchase a longer S-curve extension arm ($20-$40) before proceeding. Also verify the finished-floor-to-arm-connection height is at least 78 inches -- below this, the 12-inch head hangs at a height where taller users strike it during entry.
Standard installation (Euphoria, Tempesta)
Remove the existing showerhead. Clean the arm threads. Apply 3 wraps of Teflon tape clockwise. Thread the Grohe showerhead clockwise by hand until snug -- Grohe showerheads include a rubber inlet washer that provides additional sealing. Apply one quarter-turn with a wrench. Use a soft cloth between the wrench and the StarLight Chrome finish -- scratching the StarLight multi-layer chrome requires professional re-plating to repair, not a simple touch-up. Turn on the water and test all spray modes.
Grohe slide rail installation (for handheld models)
Grohe Euphoria and New Tempesta wall bars mount to the wall with two screws and plugs (included). Use a level to align the bar vertically -- a misaligned bar makes the holder slide to one end under gravity. Drill 3/16" holes in tile using a diamond tile bit, insert the included anchors, and mount the bar flanges. Connect the hose from the wall outlet (or from the slide bar top inlet on full-system configurations) to the Grohe handheld unit. Grohe slide bars use G1/2 connections (compatible with US 1/2-inch NPT with the included adapter).
First-use spray pattern check
After installation, run the shower and cycle through all spray modes. The Rain mode on Grohe showerheads produces a uniformly distributed pattern across the full face -- if any nozzle zones show significantly lower flow, mineral debris from the arm may be blocking that section. Shut off water, remove the showerhead, flush the arm for 10 seconds, reinstall, and retest. SpeedClean nozzles are self-cleaning during use -- run the shower for 2-3 minutes and rub the face gently with a finger to clear any shipping residue from the nozzle tips.
