American Standard limited warranty
American Standard backs residential showerheads with a limited warranty covering manufacturing defects (duration varies by model -- verify the product documentation). Contact American Standard customer service at 1-800-442-1902 with the model number and purchase information. Parts covered: spray face, spray mode mechanism, and finish defects. Not covered: normal wear, damage from improper installation or hard water mineral scale.
FloWise spray face replacement
The FloWise spray face (the front-facing nozzle disk) is removable for cleaning or replacement. Unscrew the face ring counterclockwise -- on most FloWise models it requires a coin or flat screwdriver at the center hub. Soak the face in 1:1 vinegar and water for 30-60 minutes, brush with a soft toothbrush, and reattach. If nozzle orifices are physically damaged, request a replacement spray face from American Standard customer service by model number.
Spectra eTouch mechanism -- service notes
The Spectra eTouch piezoelectric mechanism is fully contained within the showerhead body and is not user-serviceable as a standalone component. If the eTouch mechanism fails (no response to tapping with confirmed adequate water pressure), contact American Standard for warranty replacement of the full showerhead unit. The mechanism is not sold as a separate part. Before concluding failure, verify pressure is above 20 PSI and that all four spray settings cycle -- partial failure (fewer than four settings responding) may indicate partial mineral obstruction rather than mechanical failure.
Inlet washer and arm connection
The flat rubber inlet washer (5/8" OD, standard) is the most common repair for connection drips. Replace with any standard plumbing washer from a hardware store ($1-$2). The washer seats inside the showerhead inlet and compresses against the shower arm face when tightened. Do not use thread sealant compounds (pipe dope) on American Standard showerhead connections -- Teflon tape and the inlet washer provide sufficient seal.
