How Dual-Action Spray Works Mechanically
Most bidet seats use a single retractable nozzle that moves to two positions -- posterior and frontal -- and switches between them when the user changes modes. Whirlpool's dual-action system houses two independent nozzle wands on a shared retraction rail. Each wand has its own solenoid-controlled water inlet, allowing simultaneous or independent operation. When synchronized mode is activated, the control board opens both solenoids on a timed sequence: the posterior nozzle runs first for a configurable period, then the frontal nozzle activates while the posterior continues, then the posterior stops and the frontal finishes. This creates a seamless front-to-back clean without user interaction during the cycle.
Wi-Fi Integration and the Whirlpool App
The WBS-300 connects to 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi networks. Initial pairing uses the Whirlpool app on iOS 14 or later, or Android 10 or later. Once paired, the seat appears in the Whirlpool connected appliance dashboard alongside other Whirlpool smart appliances. App functions include daily schedule programming for seat heat, usage logs by user profile, remote operation from anywhere with internet access, and firmware update delivery. Alexa and Google Home integration uses the Whirlpool skill -- enabling it allows commands such as "Alexa, warm the bidet seat" or "Hey Google, start the bidet wash cycle."
User Profile Memory System
The WBS-200 and WBS-300 store up to four user profiles. Each profile retains: preferred wash mode (posterior, frontal, or synchronized), water pressure setting (1 through 5), water temperature setting (1 through 5), seat temperature setting, dryer temperature setting, and nozzle position offset for users who need the stream slightly forward or rearward of the default position. Profile switching is done via the remote or, on the WBS-300, the app. The seat detects which profile is active through manual profile button press -- there is no biometric profile switching in the current lineup.
Water Heating Method and Energy Efficiency
All Whirlpool bidet seats use a hybrid heating system: a small reservoir tank pre-warms approximately 0.4 liters of water, and an in-line booster element maintains temperature during extended wash cycles. The reservoir provides immediate warm water without the brief cold start that pure in-line heaters can exhibit. The eco mode reduces seat heat during unoccupied periods and shifts the tank pre-heat cycle to periods of historical non-use, reducing standby power draw from approximately 45 watts to under 5 watts during low-use hours.
