Dual-Action Nozzle Wands -- Two Wands, Two Part Numbers
Because the Whirlpool WBS system has two independent nozzle wands, each wand is sold separately. The posterior nozzle wand is part WBS-NZL-POST and the frontal nozzle wand is WBS-NZL-FRONT. Both wands share the same retraction rail and connection port but differ in tip geometry. Replace either wand when spray pressure drops despite a clean filter, when the tip shows visible mineral scale that the self-clean cycle cannot remove, or when the nozzle fails to retract fully. Wand replacement requires no tools: press the release tab on the wand housing, pull the wand rearward, and slide the replacement in until it clicks.
Inlet Water Filter -- 6-Month Replacement Cycle
The WBS inlet filter (part WBS-FLT-01) screens particulate from the water supply before it reaches the dual solenoid assembly. Hard water and well water users should replace every 3 months. A clogged filter reduces pressure to both nozzle wands simultaneously and can cause the solenoids to buzz under load. The filter housing is at the rear left water inlet -- unscrew the supply hose coupling, extract the filter with needle-nose pliers, insert the new filter screen end first, and reconnect the hose.
Solenoid Valves -- Individual Replacement for Each Nozzle Circuit
The WBS series uses two solenoid valves: one for the posterior nozzle circuit (WBS-SOL-POST, 12V DC) and one for the frontal nozzle circuit (WBS-SOL-FRONT, 12V DC). Symptoms of a failing solenoid include one nozzle circuit losing water flow while the other operates normally, water running continuously on one circuit after cycle completion, or a clicking sound with no water delivery. Solenoid replacement requires partially disassembling the seat -- remove the seat from the mounting plate, remove the lower shell screws, and access the valve block. Label each valve connection before removal to avoid swapping the circuits on reassembly.
Wireless Remote and Control Board Replacement
The WBS-200 and WBS-300 wireless remote (part WBS-RMT-01) uses two AAA batteries and communicates via 433 MHz RF signal. If the remote becomes unresponsive, replace batteries first. If problems persist, the remote can be re-paired: hold the pairing button on the seat panel for 5 seconds, then press any button on the remote. The WBS-300 control board (WBS-PCB-300) handles Wi-Fi, app communication, and function management. Control board replacement is a workshop-level repair -- Whirlpool recommends authorized service for PCB swaps to avoid voiding warranty. Boards are available through Whirlpool parts distribution and authorized service dealers.
