Bosch Descaler Tablets for Dishwashers and Washing Machines

Bosch part 00312294 is a citric acid-based descaling tablet formulated for Bosch dishwashers and washing machines. In hard water areas above 10 GPG where the built-in softener is operating at or near maximum capacity, calcium carbonate may slowly accumulate on the heating element and stainless steel interior despite regular softener operation. Descaling removes this buildup, restoring heating efficiency and preventing localized element overheating that can shorten element service life. For dishwashers: place one tablet in the tub (not the detergent drawer) and run a hot wash cycle without dishes. For washing machines: place one tablet in the drum and run an empty cotton cycle at the highest temperature setting available. Repeat every 1-3 months in very hard water areas (above 20 GPG) or every 6-12 months in moderately hard water (7-15 GPG). Bosch recommends using descaler tablets as a complement to (not a substitute for) regular softener salt replenishment.
