APEC 48,000 Grain Whole-House Water Softener System

The APEC WH-SOFTENER-SYS-10 is a 48,000-grain ion-exchange water softener built around the same direct-to-consumer value proposition as APEC reverse osmosis systems. The system uses 1.5 cubic feet of high-capacity sulfonated polystyrene cation exchange resin certified under NSF/ANSI 44 for hardness reduction. The demand-initiated control valve monitors cumulative water volume and regenerates only when capacity is nearing exhaustion, conserving salt compared to time-clock systems. The integrated bypass assembly uses a 3-valve configuration for service isolation without interrupting whole-house water supply. Iron removal capacity at 3 PPM clear water iron accommodates lightly iron-bearing well water without a dedicated pre-filter. APEC designed the WH-SOFTENER-SYS-10 as the first stage in a layered water quality system, with the APEC ROES-50 RO system at the kitchen sink removing residual sodium from softening and producing drinking water below 20 PPM TDS.
