Delivery Pump Kit
Avalon delivery pump kits include the pump body, motor assembly, mounting hardware, and tubing connection fittings. Pump kits are model-matched (A1, A5, A8 use slightly different pump ratings and connector styles). Order by model number from Avalon customer service or the Avalon website. Average pump service life is 5 to 7 years; early failure is almost always related to probe strainer mineral buildup that overloads the motor. Cleaning the probe strainer monthly eliminates the most common cause of premature pump failure.
UV Ozone Lamp (A5 and A8 Only)
The UV lamp in Avalon self-cleaning models is a 6W, 254 nm germicidal lamp with a rated life of 8,000 hours. At one auto-clean cycle per day (30 minutes), this translates to approximately 6 years of lamp life. However, ozone output decreases significantly before total lamp failure -- replace the lamp every 3 to 4 years to maintain sanitization effectiveness rather than waiting for full failure. Avalon sells replacement lamps by model number; handle at the end caps only and dispose according to local regulations (UV lamps contain small amounts of mercury).
Bottle Probe Assembly
Avalon probe assemblies are model-specific in length and tip design. The probe tip strainer screen is replaceable separately on some models; on others, the complete probe assembly must be replaced when the strainer becomes too corroded to clean. Replacement probes are available from Avalon customer service. A probe that develops a hairline crack at the base (visible as a white stress line in the plastic) should be replaced promptly -- a cracked probe allows air infiltration that causes the pump to lose prime.
Faucet Repair Kit
Avalon faucet repair kits include the faucet valve stem, O-rings, spring, and button cap. Faucets typically require repair after 3 to 5 years of daily use when the no-drip valve begins to weep between uses. The repair procedure takes 15 minutes: unscrew the faucet body from the reservoir fitting, replace the O-ring and valve stem per the kit instructions, and reinstall. New O-rings should be lubricated with food-grade silicone grease before installation to prevent tearing during reassembly and extend seal life.
