Most RVs include factory-installed bypass valves. If yours doesn\'t, install a 3-valve kit before first winterization.
What it does
- Valve 1: inlet shutoff to water heater
- Valve 2: outlet shutoff from water heater
- Valve 3: bypass cross-connection between inlet and outlet
Winterize mode: close inlet/outlet, open cross-connection → antifreeze flows around the water heater. Saves 6-16 gallons of antifreeze depending on tank size.
