Suburban Nautilus On Demand Water Heater — Specs, Features & Reviews

Tankless RV water heater. 2.4 GPM. Endless hot water in RV applications.

Updated May 2026 · Suburban Water Heaters

Nautilus is Suburban\'s tankless RV water heater — replaces a 6-10 gallon SW with on-demand heating. No tank means no winterizing of stored water, no anode rod, no rust.

The lineup

Advantages

  • Endless hot water (limited by flow rate, not stored volume)
  • No tank → no freeze damage risk in storage
  • No anode rod maintenance
  • Lighter weight than equivalent tank

Tradeoffs

  • 2.4 GPM cap limits simultaneous use (one shower at a time)
  • Activation flow threshold may not engage with very low-flow fixtures
  • 5-year heat exchanger warranty (vs 2-year tank)
  • More complex install than tank-for-tank swap

Bottom line

For frequent RV use, Nautilus eliminates the anode rod and freeze concerns. For occasional use with established tank-based RV plumbing, SW Standard remains the simpler choice.
