ZeroWater ZP-023 23-Cup Ready-Pour Dispenser
ZeroWater ZP-023 23-Cup Ready-Pour Dispenser Review
ZeroWater ZP-023: 5-Stage Ion Exchange Dispenser
The ZeroWater ZP-023 is a 23-cup (5.4 liter) countertop dispenser using a 5-stage ion exchange filter that removes dissolved solids from tap water to near-zero TDS (0-010 PPM). Stage 1: coarse filter screen (sediment). Stage 2: foam distributor (flow control). Stage 3: multi-layer activated carbon + oxidation-reduction alloy. Stage 4: dual ion exchange resin beds (cation + anion exchange removes all dissolved ions including calcium, magnesium, chloride, sodium, nitrates, fluoride, lead, chromium). Stage 5: ultra-fine screen. This 5-stage sequence achieves TDS reduction that activated carbon alone cannot approach.
Included TDS Meter
ZeroWater includes a pocket TDS meter (total dissolved solids meter) with every unit. The meter measures PPM of dissolved solids in the output water and in source water. ZeroWater certifies filter replacement at 006 PPM output TDS -- when the meter reads 006 or higher, the filter is depleted. Filter life varies dramatically by source water TDS: in low-TDS areas (50-150 PPM source) filters last 40+ gallons; in high-TDS areas (300-500 PPM source) filters deplete in 15-25 gallons.
- Near-zero TDS output -- removes ions carbon filters cannot
- TDS meter included -- objective filter replacement indicator
- NSF 53 lead reduction certified
- Covers largest capacity in ZeroWater lineup
- Filter life short in high-TDS source water (15-25 gallons)
- Filter replacement frequency/cost higher than carbon-only competitors
- Slow gravity flow through 5-stage media
