Quarterly reservoir cleaning

Every 3 months: (1) Remove and discard the remaining bottle. (2) Drain both hot and cold tanks through their respective taps. (3) Pour 1 quart of Primo cleaning solution (or dilute bleach: 1 tablespoon per gallon) into the reservoir via the top port. (4) Run cleaning solution through both taps until the reservoir is empty. (5) Refill with clean water and drain twice to rinse. (6) Load new bottle and resume normal use. Quarterly cleaning prevents the biofilm and mineral scale buildup that causes taste issues and bacterial growth in unattended reservoirs.

Probe replacement

The bottom-loading probe can develop a slow drip or fail to seal if the silicone gasket wears. Replacement probes are available at major Primo retail locations (Walmart, Sam's Club) and primo.com. The probe is a snap-in replacement -- unscrew the old probe from the adapter, snap in the new probe. No tools required.

Drip tray cleaning

The drip tray collects overflow from dispensing. Remove and empty weekly -- mineral scale accumulates if the tray is not dried regularly. A dilute vinegar solution (50/50 water/white vinegar) dissolves mineral deposits without damaging the plastic tray. Do not put the drip tray in the dishwasher -- the heat can warp it.
