Grohe Blue Home installation steps
Components installed under the sink: filtration housing (connects to cold water supply via a T-valve), CO2 cylinder (mounts vertically or horizontally with a bracket), CO2 regulator (connects the cylinder to the filtration housing), and the connection line to the Grohe Blue dedicated faucet at the sink deck. The dedicated faucet requires a 35mm hole at the sink deck -- most sinks have a pre-drilled accessory hole that accepts this size. If no hole exists, drilling into stainless steel sinks is possible with a step drill bit; stone countertop drilling requires a professional with a core drill.
The Grohe Blue filter housing connects to the cold water supply via a standard 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch T-valve compression fitting. No permanent plumbing modifications are required -- all connections use push-fit or compression fittings that can be removed without damage. Installation time: 2-4 hours for a competent DIY installer; 1-2 hours for a professional plumber.
Grohe Red installation -- electrical requirements
The Grohe Red 4-liter tank is available in 120V (15A circuit) and 240V configurations for North America. The 120V model is more commonly available in the U.S. market and plugs into a standard under-sink outlet (many kitchens have a GFCI outlet under the sink for garbage disposal). The 240V model draws less current but requires a dedicated 240V circuit run by an electrician -- specify during system purchase which configuration you have available. The tank also requires a cold water supply connection (3/8-inch compression T-valve) and a drain line for the overflow safety valve. Grohe Red installation is best performed by a licensed plumber familiar with European fixture installations.
