The Grohe Red delivers water at exactly 100C (212F) from a dedicated hot water tap at the sink. An insulated 4-liter under-sink tank maintains water at boiling temperature continuously (or on a programmable timer). The Grohe Red faucet is designed for safe single-hand operation -- a spring-loaded activation button prevents accidental contact with boiling water. Applications: instant tea, pour-over coffee, instant oatmeal, and blanching vegetables without waiting for the stove. The Grohe Red eliminates electric kettle use for these tasks.
The Grohe Red starter kit costs approximately $1,200-1,600 installed, including the faucet (chrome or supersteel), the 4-liter insulated tank, and installation hardware. The under-sink tank draws approximately 2,000W during heating cycles -- verify the under-sink circuit can supply this load before installation.
