POU cold water line connection
1. Shut off cold water supply under the nearest sink. 2. Install the included 1/4" saddle valve on the cold supply line -- no pipe cutting required. 3. Run the supplied 1/4" tubing from the saddle valve to the back of the Brio POU unit. 4. Connect to the inlet port on the unit (1/4" compression fitting). 5. Turn on the water supply and check for leaks at the saddle valve and inlet fitting. 6. Plug into a 120V GFCI-protected outlet. The unit typically self-flushes on first power-on -- wait for the indicator light to confirm filter prime is complete before dispensing.
First-use flush
Dispense and discard the first 2 gallons through both hot and cold taps before drinking. This flushes carbon fines from the new filter cartridge, which are harmless but produce discolored water if not flushed. The first 2 gallons are typically dispensed in 5-10 minutes.
Self-cleaning setup
The CLPOU520UVV5's self-cleaning ozone cycle runs automatically every 24 hours -- no user setup required after initial power-on. The UV-C LED in the reservoir runs continuously while the unit is powered. If the UV indicator light is not illuminated during operation, contact Brio support -- UV failure mode illuminates a warning light on the control panel.
