The Avalon Premier is the premium tier in Avalon's top-loading lineup, distinguished from budget top-loaders by a stainless steel internal reservoir (vs plastic) and an LED temperature display showing the current cold water temperature. The stainless steel reservoir is the key upgrade: stainless does not absorb odors or flavors over time (plastic reservoirs can develop taste issues after 6-12 months), is easier to clean thoroughly, and is more durable against the minor scratches that occur during cleaning.
Hot and cold dispensing (no room temperature on this model): hot at approximately 185 degF with child-lock, cold at approximately 38 degF with compressor cooling. The LED display shows the cold-side temperature in real time, which is useful for verifying the cooler is operating correctly and for confirming water is adequately chilled before dispensing. The display also shows error codes if the cooler develops a fault -- a quality-of-life feature that aids troubleshooting.
