Why Duravit uses proprietary parts
- European 4-inch tank-bowl pattern: Many Duravit SKUs use European standard 4-inch tank-bowl gasket pattern (vs US universal 3-inch). Universal Bemis 7530 may not fit Duravit directly.
- Designer actuator plates: Sigma 60-style plates rather than standard trip lever handles. Different mechanism, different parts.

Universal aftermarket compatibility (limited)
Some Duravit US-spec residential SKUs (Starck 3 two-piece floor-mount) use universal 2.5-inch shank fill valve patterns that accept Fluidmaster 400A. The Starck 3 floor-mount also uses universal 3-inch flush valve allowing Korky 2032BP. Wall-hung Duravit SKUs (ME by Starck Wall-Hung) bypass these mechanisms entirely — flush is controlled by the in-wall tank actuator plate, not a tank-side mechanism.
