Waterpik TRS-553E Twin Turbo Filtered Showerhead
Waterpik TRS-553E Twin Turbo Filtered Showerhead Review
Waterpik TRS-553E: Twin-Chamber Filtration
The Waterpik Twin Turbo uses two separate filter chambers -- a KDF-55 medium in the first stage and activated coconut carbon in the second. KDF-55 removes up to 90% of chlorine and inhibits bacterial growth in the chamber itself. The carbon stage reduces chloramine and volatile organic compounds that pass through the KDF stage. Combined, the system processes 10,000 gallons before media replacement.
Five Spray Modes
Rain, Full Body, Mist, PowerPulse Massage, and Pause. The filter chambers sit inline between the arm connection and the head, adding about 3 inches to the overall length but not significantly affecting spray pressure at normal residential supply pressure (45-80 PSI).
Filter Replacement
Waterpik replacement filters (model TWR-025E) cost approximately $20 and take 3 minutes to swap -- unscrew the inline housing, pop out the dual-chamber cartridge, and reinstall. The head includes a usage indicator that discolors at approximately 10,000 gallons.
