Standard fixed showerhead installation
Remove the existing showerhead by turning the connection nut counterclockwise. Clean the shower arm threads. Wrap 2-3 layers of Teflon tape clockwise around the arm threads. Thread the Delta showerhead clockwise by hand until snug, then add a quarter-turn with a wrench (use a cloth to protect the finish). Turn on the water and check for leaks at the connection. If the showerhead drips at the wall, add one half-turn more. Do not exceed one full wrench turn past hand-tight on plastic or acrylic showerhead bodies -- they crack under over-torque.
In2ition installation specifics
The In2ition showerhead installs the same as a standard fixed showerhead at the shower arm connection. The handheld unit docks into the showerhead body -- no additional plumbing is required. Delta includes a diverter valve integrated into the main body that routes water to the handheld when undocked while continuing to run the overhead. There are no additional hose connections to the wall. The hose connects from the showerhead body to the handheld unit -- thread this connection hand-tight plus a quarter-turn the same as the wall connection.
Slide bar installation for handheld models
Delta's slide bars mount to the tile wall with two screws. Locate the studs if possible, or use the supplied tile anchors. Mark the hole positions with a level (the bar must be plumb for smooth sliding). Drill 3/16-inch holes, insert anchors, and screw in the mounting brackets. Slide the bar into the brackets and tighten the set screws. The handheld holder clips onto the bar and slides freely for height adjustment.
Pressure check and adjustment
After installation, turn the water to full and check the spray pattern. If flow is weaker than expected, remove the showerhead and check for a flow restrictor insert in the inlet -- a small plastic disk with a pinhole that may be present for water-restricted areas. Remove the restrictor if your jurisdiction permits 2.5 GPM. If pressure remains low after restrictor removal, the issue is supply pressure, not the showerhead -- check that the supply shut-off is fully open and that shower valve cartridge is not partially blocked with debris.
