Culligan WSH-C125 Filtered Showerhead
Culligan WSH-C125 Filtered Showerhead Review
Culligan WSH-C125: NSF-Certified Chlorine Filtration
The Culligan WSH-C125 is one of the few filtered showerheads with NSF International certification (Standard 177) for shower filtration performance. The filter medium -- a blend of KDF-55 and granular activated carbon -- is certified to reduce free chlorine by 99% over a 200-gallon filter life. At 1.8 GPM, that represents approximately 4-5 months of daily 10-minute showers for a single user.
Design and Installation
The filter canister threads onto the existing shower arm before the head -- no tools required. Culligan includes one replacement cartridge (model WSH-C125R) in the box. The head itself offers a single spray mode -- Culligan prioritizes filtration consistency over spray variety. A second cartridge costs approximately $8, making long-term cost very low.
Who This Serves
Households on chlorinated municipal water who experience dry skin, hair brittleness, or irritation after showering are the primary market. The NSF 177 certification distinguishes the WSH-C125 from uncertified filtered heads that make similar claims without third-party validation.
- NSF 177 certified -- third-party verified chlorine reduction
- 99% chlorine reduction claim certified
- Replacement cartridge under $10
- Simple inline installation
- Single spray mode
- Short 200-gallon filter life vs KDF-only competitors
