Most common failure points
Aquadance product failure typically occurs in this order by frequency: (1) hose swivel connection drips after 2-3 years of daily flexing, (2) 3-way diverter valve develops stiffness or leakage past year 3 in hard water areas, (3) finish wear on the overhead showerhead body after 3-5 years in chlorinated water. The spray nozzles (Rub-Clean silicone tips) are the most durable component and rarely fail without physical damage.
Hose replacement
The Aquadance hose uses standard 1/2-inch NPT swivel connections at both ends. Any 60-inch braided shower hose from a hardware store or Amazon fits the HHC2 connection points. Cost: $8-$18. Contact Aquadance support (via Amazon or aquadance.com) for a warranty replacement hose if within the warranty period -- include the Amazon order number or purchase receipt.
Diverter replacement
The HHC2 3-way diverter body is the most difficult component to source as a standalone part. Aquadance periodically sells replacement diverter bodies directly. If the diverter fails outside the warranty period, the practical repair is to purchase a new HHC2 unit at $30-$45 rather than attempting to source the diverter body separately -- the replacement cost is close to the part cost plus shipping. Rub-Clean nozzle maintenance
The Aquadance Rub-Clean silicone nozzles (the flexible nozzle tips on both the overhead and handheld units) are designed for self-cleaning by finger rubbing during the shower. In heavy hard water areas (above 200 ppm), wipe each nozzle with a damp cloth dipped in white vinegar monthly to prevent cumulative mineral buildup that the Rub-Clean design alone cannot fully remove. The nozzle plate on both showerhead bodies is removable for soaking -- unscrew the face plate counterclockwise and soak in 1:1 vinegar and water for 30 minutes.
