iSpring RCC7P-AK 7-Stage Alkaline Booster Pump RO System

The iSpring RCC7P-AK adds an electric booster pump to the RCC7AK platform, solving the most common RO installation problem: inadequate feed pressure. Standard RO membranes need 40-80 PSI to produce their rated GPD output. Below 45 PSI, production drops dramatically -- a system rated at 75 GPD might only produce 25-30 GPD at 35 PSI, and the waste ratio increases from 4:1 toward 6:1 or worse. In homes with aging pressure-reducing valves, well systems with low static pressure, or apartments with municipal pressure drops during peak hours, these conditions are common.

The RCC7P-AK's booster pump runs on 24V DC (transformer included) and increases line pressure to the membrane from whatever the feed supply delivers to a consistent 60-70 PSI range. This restores full 75 GPD production and improves the waste ratio toward the nominal 4:1. The pump runs only when the storage tank is filling -- it has a pressure-sensitive switch and shuts off when the tank reaches capacity. Noise level is modest (similar to a refrigerator compressor) and is audible under the sink for the 20-40 minutes per day the tank is filling.

Who needs the RCC7P-AK specifically: check your supply pressure with a $10 gauge on the shutoff valve under the sink before buying an RO system. If you read below 45 PSI consistently, add the pump. If you read 50+ PSI, the base RCC7AK will produce close to rated output and the pump spend is not necessary. The RCC7P-AK costs roughly $60-$80 more than the RCC7AK for the pump module.
