iSpring RCC7AK 7-Stage Alkaline Under-Sink RO System

The iSpring RCC7AK extends the RCC7 platform with a dedicated 7th-stage alkaline remineralization cartridge. The cartridge contains calcium, magnesium, and potassium minerals in a slow-dissolve calcite/maifan stone blend. Output TDS rises from the RCC7's ~5 ppm to approximately 25-50 ppm, and pH climbs from ~6.2 to ~7.0-8.0, producing water that tastes noticeably rounder and more neutral than ultra-pure RO permeate.

The RCC7AK is the right upgrade from the RCC7 for households where someone in the home has complained about the taste of straight RO water, or where the household currently spends money on alkaline bottled water. The calcite/maifan mineral blend adds back the specific minerals -- calcium and magnesium -- that RO removes, which is the same mineral profile as spring water. This is distinct from the controversial "ionized alkaline" claims of electric ionizer machines; the RCC7AK simply dissolves natural minerals into the water, which is a chemistry reality rather than a marketing claim.

The alkaline cartridge replaces on the same 12-month schedule as the post-filter. iSpring sells it as part FT20A ($20-$30). The rest of the system -- 7-stage filtration, 75 GPD, US customer service, TDS meter kit -- is identical to the base RCC7. Installation is the same complexity and the included hardware kit is unchanged.

If you're deciding between the RCC7 and RCC7AK: the AK adds roughly $30-$40 to the purchase price and $20-$30 per year in the alkaline cartridge. If you have family members who won't drink straight RO water, the AK is worth every penny. If everyone already drinks tap water and the RO is purely functional, save the money with the base RCC7.
