TOTO TLG10305U Legato: ECOPOWER Self-Generating Sensor Faucet
The TOTO Legato TLG10305U uses ECOPOWER technology -- a miniature hydroelectric turbine built into the faucet body that generates electricity from water flow to power the infrared sensor. Unlike battery-powered sensor faucets that require AA cell replacement every 6-18 months, the ECOPOWER system is fully self-sustaining. Once enough water passes through (a brief initial priming period), the supercapacitor charges and the sensor activates without external power.
Vessel Faucet Application
Vessel faucets mount through a single hole in the countertop (not the sink basin) and deliver water from above into a vessel sink bowl. The Legato spout height is 8-1/16 inches above the deck -- sized for vessel bowls 4-6 inches tall. The 0.5 GPM flow is unusually low, but TOTO targets commercial restroom applications where sensor faucets must minimize water use over thousands of daily activations.
Sensor and Flow Control
The infrared sensor detects hands at 6 inches and opens the solenoid valve. Flow continues for 30 seconds maximum then cuts off automatically -- a safety timer that prevents water waste from sensor malfunction or objects left under the spout. Temperature is preset at the supply valve (no mixing handle on this model).
