Kohler K-596 Simplice: ProSense Spray Technology

The Kohler Simplice K-596 uses Kohler ProSense technology -- a pressure-responsive system that automatically adjusts water flow to maintain consistent spray performance at variable supply pressures (20-125 PSI). Most pull-down faucets produce a weaker spray at lower pressures; ProSense compensates by narrowing nozzle aperture to maintain velocity. This is particularly valuable in homes with variable supply pressure.

Three Spray Modes

The pull-down head rotates between Stream, Spray, and Boost. Stream is standard laminar flow. Spray is the wide-cone mode for rinsing. Boost temporarily increases flow by 30% for filling large pots -- Kohler calls this their "pot-fill" mode. The mode selector is a recessed button on the head face that requires deliberate pressure, preventing accidental mode switching during use.

Construction

The K-596 is solid brass construction throughout -- body, spout, and supply connections. Vibrant stainless finish uses a PVD (physical vapor deposition) process that bonds the color to the base metal at the atomic level, producing a finish that cannot peel, chip, or tarnish.
