Pre-Installation Requirements for Waterpik FB Series
Confirm the following before starting: GFCI 120V outlet within 4 feet of the toilet, bowl shape matching the model purchased (FB-3000-E or FB-3575-E for elongated, FB-3000-R or FB-3575-R for round), water shutoff valve is operational. The Waterpik FB series requires a standard 7/8-inch supply connection -- verify your shutoff valve uses this size (most residential toilets do). If your toilet shutoff valve uses a 3/8-inch compression fitting, you will need an adapter (not included) in addition to the Waterpik T-adapter.
Step 1 -- Shut Off Water and Remove Existing Seat
Close the toilet shutoff valve (turn clockwise). Flush the toilet to drain the tank. Place a cloth under the supply line connection at the tank base before disconnecting. Remove the existing toilet seat by lifting the hinge covers, holding the bolt head from above with a flathead screwdriver, and unscrew the nut from below with adjustable pliers. Lift the seat off. The mounting area should be clean and dry before placing the Waterpik mounting plate.
Step 2 -- T-Adapter Installation and Bidet Hose Connection
Unscrew the existing supply hose from the fill valve fitting at the tank base. Thread the Waterpik T-adapter onto the fill valve shank -- verify the rubber washer is inside the adapter before threading. Hand-tighten then add one quarter turn with a wrench. Reconnect the original supply hose to the lower port of the T-adapter. Connect the Waterpik bidet supply hose to the side port. Route the bidet hose along the toilet base to the seat inlet port, which is on the left rear on both FB models. Avoid kinking the hose in tight corners -- a minimum bend radius of 3 inches prevents flow restriction.
Step 3 -- Seat Mounting and Water Supply Test
Position the Waterpik mounting plate over the toilet bolt holes. Adjust the plate width slider to match your bolt hole spacing (5.5 inches is standard). Insert the mounting bolts, thread the nuts from below, and tighten evenly. Slide the FB seat onto the plate from the rear until the locking tabs engage. Connect the bidet supply hose to the seat inlet port and hand-tighten the coupling nut. Open the shutoff valve slowly and check all connections for drips. Plug the power cord into the GFCI outlet and allow the startup sequence to complete (approximately 15 seconds).
Step 4 -- RF Remote Pairing (FB-3575) and Pressure Test
For the FB-3575: with the seat powered, hold the PAIR button on the rear panel of the seat for 3 seconds. The indicator light will blink. Press any button on the RF remote within 10 seconds -- the seat indicator will flash twice to confirm pairing. Test the remote by pressing the posterior wash button from 3 feet away, then from across the room to confirm RF range. For both models, conduct the first-use pressure test: sit on the seat, activate posterior wash at pressure setting 1, and confirm water reaches the correct area. Increase through settings 2 to 5 while noting the pressure progression -- if any setting produces no noticeable pressure change, inspect the inlet filter for blockage. On the FB-3575, test pulsating mode and confirm the pressure variation is perceptible. Run a nozzle self-clean cycle as the final step.
