The tank contains a resistive heating element that heats the stored water to the selected temperature setting (low, medium, or high) on a continuous basis when the seat is powered. When a wash cycle begins, warm water from the tank flows to the nozzle. Because the reservoir is small, warm water supply is limited to approximately 40 to 50 seconds at the medium flow rate before the cooler supply line water begins to enter the mix. Nozzle Design and Self-Cleaning on Budget Seats
The Glacier Bay nozzle wand is a retractable ABS plastic assembly with a basic self-rinse function on the electric model: before each use cycle, cold water briefly flushes the nozzle tip. There is no post-cycle rinse on most Glacier Bay models. The nozzle guard housing prevents direct toilet bowl contact when retracted. For the non-electric model, the nozzle is always slightly exposed (no retraction mechanism) and should be cleaned manually every 2 to 4 weeks with the included cleaning brush. There is no energy saver or eco mode -- the seat maintains heat continuously at the set temperature.
