WaterSense Flow Control -- How Delta Manages Spray Efficiency

The WaterSense certification on Delta Advance Clean seats requires that the spray flow rate not exceed EPA-defined thresholds during active wash cycles. Delta achieves this through a pressure regulator integrated into the water inlet assembly. The regulator caps incoming water pressure at the nozzle regardless of household line pressure variation. In homes with high municipal pressure (above 80 PSI), the regulator prevents overpressure at the nozzle while maintaining consistent spray feel across the five adjustable pressure settings. Users moving from non-certified bidet seats may notice that maximum pressure on the Delta feels slightly lower than a non-certified competitor -- this is the WaterSense regulator operating correctly.

Dual-Position Nozzle Assembly and Self-Cleaning

The Advance Clean nozzle wand is a single retractable assembly with two exit ports: a rear port for posterior wash and a forward port for frontal wash. The wand slides forward approximately 1.5 centimeters when posterior mode is selected and retracts to the midpoint for frontal mode. Before each wash cycle the seat opens the solenoid valve briefly to flush the nozzle tip with cold water. After the cycle, a second rinse flush clears residue from the tip before the wand retracts into the guard housing. The guard housing itself is removable for manual cleaning -- press the tab on the housing side and pull it forward off the wand rail.

Activated Carbon Deodorizer (1H604 Only)

The 1H604 includes a small fan-and-filter assembly under the rear of the seat that draws air from the toilet bowl, passes it through an activated carbon filter cartridge, and exhausts the filtered air. The fan activates when occupancy is detected and runs for a configurable period after the user stands. The carbon filter cartridge (part ADV-DEOD-01) should be replaced every 6 months. A depleted filter does not damage the seat but significantly reduces deodorizer effectiveness. The filter compartment is accessible from outside the seat -- no disassembly required.

Heated Seat Construction and Energy Saver Mode

The heated seat in both Advance Clean models uses a resistive heating wire embedded in the ABS seat shell. Heat distributes evenly across the seat surface and reaches the set temperature within 2 minutes of power-on. The energy saver mode -- labeled "ECO" on the side panel -- reduces seat heat to standby when the bathroom is unoccupied for a configured time period (default 30 minutes). In ECO mode, the seat re-warms in approximately 60 seconds when occupancy is detected. Delta testing shows ECO mode reduces annual seat heater energy consumption by approximately 35 percent versus always-on mode.
