Nozzle Wand -- User-Replaceable in Under 5 Minutes
The Delta Advance Clean nozzle wand assembly (part ADV-NZL-01 for elongated and round, both use the same wand) is a modular component that pulls out of the wand housing after pressing the release tab. Signs of nozzle wear or failure include reduced spray consistency, spray that exits at an angle rather than straight, and nozzle that does not fully retract after cycle completion. The guard housing can be removed separately (part ADV-GUARD-01) for cleaning or replacement if mineral buildup inside the housing is restricting nozzle retraction.
Inlet Water Filter -- Replace Every 6 Months
The Advance Clean inlet filter (part ADV-FLT-01) is a small sediment cartridge at the water inlet coupling on the left rear of the seat. Remove the supply hose coupling, extract the filter with needle-nose pliers, and insert the replacement. Both 1H602 and 1H604 use the same filter part. In municipal water areas with good filtration, annual replacement is often sufficient. Well water and areas with high mineral content require more frequent replacement -- inspect the filter when replacing the deodorizer cartridge for easy scheduling.
Deodorizer Carbon Cartridge (1H604 Only)
The 1H604 deodorizer filter cartridge (part ADV-DEOD-01) is located in a small compartment on the right side of the seat housing. Open the compartment door, pull out the spent cartridge, and push the new one in until it seats. No tools required. Replace every 6 months or when deodorizer effectiveness noticeably decreases. The cartridge contains activated carbon granules sealed in a filter housing -- do not attempt to refill cartridges with loose activated carbon, as improper sealing will allow granules to enter the fan assembly.
Solenoid Valve and Seat Heating Element
The Advance Clean solenoid valve (part ADV-SOL-01, 12V DC normally-closed) controls water flow to the nozzle. Failure symptoms include water running continuously or no water flow despite correct settings. Replacement requires removing the seat from the mounting plate and opening the lower shell -- four screws accessible from the bottom. The seat heating element (part ADV-HTR-01) is a resistive wire assembly embedded in the seat shell. Element failure typically manifests as no heat in one zone of the seat or no heat at all.
