Pre-Installation: Rough-In and Supply Pressure Verification
DeerValley integrated toilets use a standard 12-inch rough-in (center of drain to finished wall). Measure your existing rough-in before ordering -- if your rough-in is 10 inches or 14 inches, the DeerValley models will not fit without floor drain relocation. Verify water supply pressure before installation using a pressure gauge at the nearest hose bib or shutoff valve: DeerValley requires 25 to 80 PSI. Below 25 PSI, install a booster pump; above 80 PSI, install a pressure reducing valve on the supply line before the toilet shutoff valve. A GFCI-protected 120V outlet must be located within 4 feet of the toilet position -- a dedicated 20-amp circuit is recommended given the 1,200-watt heating element draw.
Step 1 -- Remove Existing Toilet
Turn off the toilet shutoff valve. Flush to empty the tank. Disconnect the supply line from the tank. For the old toilet: remove the tank from the bowl (two bolts inside the tank), then remove the bowl from the floor (two flange bolts under the caps at the base). Lift the bowl carefully -- old wax rings can be messy. Stuff a rag into the open drain flange to prevent sewer gas from entering the room while the toilet is removed. Scrape the old wax ring from the flange and inspect the flange for damage. A damaged toilet flange must be repaired or replaced before the new toilet is installed.
Step 2 -- Set the DeerValley Toilet Bowl
Place the new wax ring (included with DeerValley toilets) onto the drain flange with the flat side down. Carefully lower the DeerValley toilet bowl over the flange bolts, aligning the bolt holes in the toilet base with the flange bolts. Press firmly downward to seat the wax ring -- sit on the toilet briefly to apply body weight to fully compress the wax. Thread the flange nuts onto the bolts and tighten evenly until the toilet base no longer rocks. Do not overtighten -- the toilet base is ceramic and can crack. Install the bolt caps. Connect the water supply hose to the toilet supply inlet (3/8-inch compression fitting on most DeerValley models).
Step 3 -- Connect Bidet Water Supply and Electrical
The DeerValley bidet system draws from the same supply line as the flush system through an internal manifold. No separate T-adapter is required -- the toilet supply inlet feeds both the flush solenoid and the bidet water heater through internal distribution. Connect the single supply hose from the shutoff valve to the toilet inlet. Open the shutoff valve slowly and verify no leaks at the connection. Plug the power cord into the GFCI outlet and observe the startup sequence: the lid will open and close, the nozzle will extend and retract, and the control panel will illuminate indicating ready state.
Step 4 -- First-Use Testing and Adjustment
Test the flush function first: press the flush button and confirm the bowl fills and drains completely. If the flush cycle is incomplete (bowl does not clear), check supply pressure. Test the bidet functions: sit on the seat to activate occupancy, press posterior wash at minimum pressure, and verify warm water delivery within 5 seconds. Test each pressure setting through maximum. Test the heated seat (may require 2 to 3 minutes to reach target temperature). On the DV-2F52015, test the oscillating mode and confirm smooth nozzle travel. Test the automatic lid sensor by approaching from 1 meter -- the lid should open within 2 seconds. Adjust deodorizer post-use timer via the remote if needed. Register the product at the DeerValley website for the 1-year limited warranty.
