Stainless Steel Nozzle Wand -- Advanced Clean 1000

The 1000 series stainless nozzle wand (part AC1000-NZL-SS) should be inspected annually for pitting or damage. Under normal use with regular self-clean cycles, the stainless wand can last 3 to 5 years before replacement is warranted. Replacement is straightforward: press the release tab on the wand housing, slide the wand rearward out of the rail, and insert the new wand until it clicks. Genuine stainless wands are available through American Standard authorized dealers. Avoid plastic third-party wand replacements for the 1000 -- the seat was calibrated for the mass and friction characteristics of the stainless wand, and plastic substitutes may not retract fully.

Plastic Nozzle Wand -- Advanced Clean 100

The Advanced Clean 100 nozzle wand (part AC100-NZL-PL) is a white ABS plastic assembly. Replace when spray pressure decreases despite clean inlet filter, when the tip shows visible mineral scale that self-clean does not clear, or when the nozzle fails to retract to the home position. In hard water areas, inspect every 6 months. The replacement procedure is identical to the 1000 stainless wand -- press release tab, slide out, insert new.

Inlet Water Filter and Deodorizer Cartridge

The inlet water filter (part AC-FLT-01, fits both 100 and 1000) is the first maintenance item for any American Standard Advanced Clean seat. Replace every 6 months in standard municipal water conditions. The deodorizer carbon cartridge for the Advanced Clean 1000 (part AC1000-DEOD-01) slides into the side compartment and should be replaced every 6 months alongside the inlet filter for a simple combined service interval. Replacing both on the same schedule simplifies maintenance tracking.

Solenoid Valve and Control Electronics

The Advanced Clean solenoid valve (part AC-SOL-01, 12V DC) controls the main water supply to the nozzle. A separate valve controls pre-mist on the 1000. Symptoms of solenoid failure include no water delivery, continuous water flow after cycle completion, or water leaking from the nozzle wand area during non-use. Solenoid replacement requires opening the seat lower shell and is appropriate for experienced DIY repair. American Standard customer service (1-800-442-1902) can assist with diagnosis and genuine parts ordering. The 1000 SpaLet wireless remote (part AC1000-RMT) uses two AA batteries and can be re-paired to the seat by holding the pairing button on the seat panel for 5 seconds while pressing any remote button.
