Pre-installation: drain rough-in
Before any flooring is installed, mark the tub position on the subfloor. Measure from the wall to the foot end of the tub, then find the centerline of the drain opening (typically 4-6" from the foot end centerline). Cut and install the drain rough-in -- a 1.5" PVC p-trap and drain riser terminating 1-2" above the finished floor height. Install the flange before flooring; the chrome drain assembly connects to the flange after the tub is set.
Positioning and leveling
Woodbridge tubs ship with adjustable stainless steel feet. Set the tub in position, check level on both axes with a 4-foot level across the tub rim. Adjust feet until the bubble is centered -- the foot adjustment range is approximately +/-3/4". Tighten all feet lock nuts once level is confirmed. Do not move the tub after connecting the drain -- repositioning requires disconnecting and reconnecting the drain assembly.
Drain and overflow connection
Woodbridge's included pop-up drain kit: insert the drain body through the tub drain hole, apply plumber's putty under the flange, thread the drain nut from below. Connect the overflow body to the overflow hole at the tub interior. Connect the chrome waste-and-overflow assembly. Test with a full fill before installing the floor-mount filler -- catch any drain leaks while access is easy.
