Single slipper vs double slipper
Single slipper (VTDE606024): one raised end provides back support for one bather in a reclining position; the other end is lower and serves as the exit end. Right for one-bather primary use. Double slipper (VT7D5531): both ends raised, drain at center, two bathers or one bather with choice of recline direction. More dramatic visual impact. More installation complexity (center drain). Choose single slipper unless two-person bathing is a genuine intended use.
Clawfoot plumbing -- exposed risers
Clawfoot tubs don't use standard wall supply connections. The faucet deck-mounts to the tub rim, supply lines run in exposed chrome risers from floor-level wall valves. This requires: wall supply shut-offs to terminate at floor level (not at wall height), exposed chrome riser pipes, and a plumber familiar with clawfoot configurations. The exposed plumbing is a design feature, not a compromise -- it's authentic to the Victorian clawfoot aesthetic.
