Culligan Installation Process: Dealer-Managed from Start to Finish

Culligan installation is entirely managed by the local authorized dealer — you do not install a Culligan system yourself. The dealer survey visit (usually free) assesses your supply line, drain, electrical access, available space, and water chemistry before selecting the appropriate system. Installation day involves a licensed plumber from the dealer's network, typically 2–4 hours, and the dealer handles all permits where required.

What to Expect During Culligan Installation

  1. Water quality test: the dealer tests hardness, iron, TDS, and any contaminants of concern before recommending a model.
  2. System specification: based on household size, water hardness, and iron content, the dealer specifies grain capacity, valve type, and any pre-treatment needed.
  3. Installation: the dealer places the mineral tank and brine tank, connects the supply and drain lines, plugs in the controller, and programs the system.
  4. Walkthrough: the installer demonstrates the bypass valve location, shows you the brine tank salt level, and explains the service indicator.
  5. First salt delivery: Culligan dealers typically provide the first 80–150 lbs of pellet salt during installation.

After Installation: Culligan Service Contracts

Most Culligan dealers offer an annual service contract ($100–$250/year) that includes one or two maintenance visits, priority emergency service, and a discounted salt delivery rate. For owned systems, this is worth considering for homeowners who don't want to monitor and service the system themselves.
