The internal delivery pump is the component most likely to fail in a Primo bottom-load water dispenser after several years of daily use. Failure presents as a dispenser that hums (motor attempting to run) but produces no water flow, or water flow that is significantly weaker and slower than when the dispenser was new. The sealed 110V pump motor typically fails due to either motor winding degradation at end-of-life or mineral scale buildup on the probe strainer that overloads the motor until it fails. This OEM Primo pump kit is the correct replacement for both failure modes.

Kit contents and compatibility

The kit includes the pump body, mounting hardware, and silicone tube connections matched to the Primo PCGT and PADBT series dispenser platforms. Before ordering, verify compatibility with your specific dispenser by checking the model number (printed on the rating label inside the bottom cabinet door). Primo periodically updates the pump specifications across model year changes; the pump kit is model-specific, and a kit from the wrong model year may not connect correctly to the existing tubing or control board connector.

Installation: 20 to 30 minutes

Unplug the dispenser. Open the rear access panel (2 Phillips screws on most PCGT models). Locate the pump -- a cylindrical black unit mounted inside the cabinet. Disconnect the two silicone tubing push-fit connections (press the collet release and pull the tube straight out). Unplug the 2-pin motor power connector from the control board. Remove the 3 mounting screws. Install the new pump with inlet to the probe tube and outlet to the reservoir inlet -- the different tube diameters prevent reversal. Reconnect all tubing and the power connector. Restore power and confirm the pump fills the cold reservoir within 60 seconds.
