Rinnai RX130iN Sensei RX Interior Tankless Water Heater
Rinnai RX130iN Sensei RX Interior Tankless Water Heater Review
The Rinnai RX130iN Sensei RX Interior is the smaller-capacity variant in Rinnai's RX condensing tankless platform. Sized at 130K BTU — below the RX160iN, RX180iN, and RX199iN.
Specs: 130,000 BTU natural gas input, UEF 0.95 condensing, full stainless heat exchanger (RX platform differentiator), 6.6 GPM at a 35°F rise. PVC condensing venting. 15-year warranty on heat exchanger.
The 130K BTU class is right-sized for 1-2 bath warm-climate homes with sequential demand. Smaller gas line requirements than 199K BTU tankless — typically 3/4" gas line at moderate distances is adequate.
The RX platform's full stainless heat exchanger meaningfully extends descaling intervals — 18-24 months on the RX series versus 9-12 months on the standard RU series in hard-water conditions.
About $2,000 unit, $3,600 installed including PVC condensing venting. Right buyer: 1-2 bath warm-climate or 1-bath cold-climate home in hard-water region wanting Rinnai engineering with extended descaling intervals at smaller-than-flagship capacity.
